Statement of Biblical Authority
Victory Church believes that at the center of Christian faith and practice stands the permanent belief
that God, the Father, has revealed His ultimate will to the world in the person and work of God the Son... Jesus Christ. The narrative of Christ is accurately and authoritatively revealed in the Christian Bible,
through the divine inspiration and guidance through God, the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant and sufficient Word of God and is thus the ultimate authority
for life, faith and morals. Thus, it is the Bible itself to which we are in authoritative submission.
Statement of Basic Theological Belief
The following Statement represents the core orthodox beliefs of Victory Church from
a biblical and historical perspective. While Church Members are not required to fully understand
or articulate all aspects of the Statement of Basic Belief, the explicit rejection of any part of it
disqualifies one from membership of Victory Church.
We Believe...
THE HOLY BIBLE
The Bible, made up of both Old and New Testaments, was written by men who were divinely inspired, both literally and conceptually.
It is God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. Biblical Scripture is the ONLY authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final source for all doctrinal truths. It is totally true and complete. However, the Bible is not exhaustive. It is crucial to apply knowledge of the Ancient Biblical language and culture when seeking to interpret Scriptures.
ONE GOD
There has always been, is currently, and will forever be only one true, living God. He is the intelligent, spiritual, and very personal Being operating as Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of the universe.
God is infinite in holiness, power, presence, goodness, and knowledge.

THE TRINITY
God reveals His triune nature to humanity
as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Each person of the Trinity has distinct personal attributes, is eternal
in existence, and is without division of nature.

HUMANITY
Humans are the special creation of God and are made in His own image. In the beginning, man was innocent of sin. By his free choice, man rebelled against God and brought sin into the human race.
The deserved penalty for sin is death, both physical and spiritual.
Man is totally helpless to redeem his fallen state of depravity.
Only the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ,
can bring man redemption.

SIN
Sin is any action or inaction, thought, or desire in opposition to the eternal will of God, thus an act of offence against God. Sin entered
the world when the first humans, Adam and Eve, chose to rebel against God in the Garden of Eden. The source of sin is the heart
of a human is the place where sin starts within the individual. However, the human inherits the sinful nature at conception. The cost of sin
is death. The payment for sin is perfect/pure blood.

JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the physical incarnation of God, the Son. While taking human form, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and lived a life that was perfect and without sin. Jesus Christ physically died on a wooden cross as substitute to pay the penalty for sin for humanity. After Three days of being physically dead, Jesus Christ physically rose from the grave. Jesus Christ physically ascended into heaven and will one day physically return to rescue His Church.

SALVATION
Salvation is the freeing of a human being’s soul from sin and its consequences, which include death and separation from God,
through Jesus Christ. It is a precious gift from God, given to those whom God foresaw and then chose before the foundation of
the world. Without salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, a person cannot be returned to relationship with God. It is not obtained through ANY means of human work or power.

ORDINANCES
Jesus Christ instructed His followers to observe two ordinances. These ceremonies are not requirements for salvation, but rather a chance for the Christian to reflect on Jesus Christ and His love for us.
Baptism: Following a confession of salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, a new believer should be baptized in water (fully immersed) in the Name of the Father, and of the Son Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord’s Supper: The Lord’s Supper (Also known as Communion and/or Eucharist) is a special meal in which the Christian partakes to remember and reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. We believe the bread & juice are spiritually symbolic.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Spiritual gifts are special spiritual abilities given to disciples of Jesus Christ, at the will and discretion of the Holy Spirit. The purposes of these gifts are to to build up the Body of Christ, to complete the work of the Body of Christ, and to build unity in the church. Victory Church
believes that all gifts are still present today just as they were two thousand years ago. Scripture gives instruction on how to use spiritual gifts as well as warnings against misusing them. We also believe that Christians have a responsibility to use gifts in direction of the Holy Spirit as well as not glorifying themselves or others.
